Short Story
He was killed on a search and rescue mission near the San Clemente Island, over the Pacific Ocean when a Marine helicopter hit them in the search pattern where the search was being conducted. CG1705 lost 7 souls and the Marine lost 2. We grieve them all! Jake was the recipient of many awards in his 7 years in the Coast Guard. He, too, loved to serve and loved the work he did. He is terribly missed on this earth and I pray he is our guardian from heaven!
